Those are the worst examples of weekend-to-weekend collapses by MCU titles in the post- Avengers: Endgame era, and Fantastic Four: First Steps didn't perform THAT badly in the last three days... but the results are definitely disappointing.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set during the 1960s, unlike its predecessors, which were set during modern times and don't tell their origin stories. In addition to that, the film ( alongside Thunderbolts) has also set the stage for Avengers: Doomsday, which is set for a December 2026 release.

With The Fantastic Four: First Steps estimated for a difficult 66-percent box office drop from its respectable opening weekend of $118 million domestic, the comic book movie giant has watched its 2025 strategy lose some of the core audience that cemented the MCU as appointment viewing for years... the average moviegoers.
