BERKELEY — A person was struck and killed by a BART train on Friday morning, creating major delays for travelers between Richmond and Millbrae, the latest in a string of incidents on the transit system’s line that have made it a tough week for riders.

A "major medical emergency" is causing delays on BART's Richmond Line, transit officials said Friday morning. In an advisory around 6:40 a.m., BART officials said the medical emergency, not immediately specified, occurred near the North Berkeley station.
