Actor Rick Hurst, beloved for his role as Deputy Cletus Hogg in "The Dukes of Hazzard," has died at the age of 79. Hurst is survived by two sons, Ryan and Collin, who followed in his acting footsteps.

Rick Hurst, the actor best known as Deputy Cletus Hogg in 'Dukes of Hazzard' and father of actor Ryan Hurst, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon. He was 79.

Hurst’s co-star Ben Jones, who played Cooter Davenport on the 1979-’85 CBS sitcom, announced his death on Facebook after Hurst was scheduled to appear at Cooter’s Place in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee next month.
