SpaceX rocket launch near NASA Kennedy Space Center may be visible from Volusia County, including New Smyrna, Port Orange, Oak Hill and Daytona Beach

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation has revealed the 2025 inductees to the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame. Veteran NASA astronauts Bernard Harris and Peggy Whitson will join the 109 astronauts already in the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

Space Florida, which is working on upgrading wastewater facilities at the cape and expanding wharf space for the industry at Port Canaveral, manages certain operations at the spaceport through property leased from the federal government, including launch and landing facilities through an agreement with NASA.
