The Indy 500 curse continued this year as Alex Palou crashed at the IndyCar Detroit Grand Prix. The reigning world champion was looking to battle for his sixth win of the season, but was pushed by David Malukas into the turn 1 barrier,

The Spaniard will not finish the Detroit Grand Prix. His dominant stretch, winning the Indy 500 as his fifth win in six starts, followed by a crash continues a historic trend.

It may be the first full season of running hybrid engines, but Alex Palou has won five out of six IndyCar races so far, while Honda has won them all—including the iconic Indy 500.
