Technology and staffing problems have plagued the airport, one of the nation’s busiest hubs. Officials say they are trying to resolve the issues, but concerns remain.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy plans to reduce the number of flights in and out of the Newark Liberty International Airport for the “next several weeks.”

Newark has been facing disruptions for around two weeks amid a national air traffic controller shortage, leading to delays of up to five hours for some flights. As a result, some students flying home for the summer have changed their flights.
