Lansing — The criticism, drama and refusals to concede that marked Michigan's last two statewide elections were missing Friday, as the Board of State Canvassers certified Republican Donald Trump's 80,156-vote win over Democrat Kamala Harris in the presidential contest.
The 2024 election in Michigan has been certified as a win for President-elect Donald Trump and Senator-elect Elissa Slotkin, among all races statewide.
The votes by the county-level bipartisan canvassing boards marked a key step in the process of finalizing the tallies.
Finance reports show that the Trump campaign’s most common food vendor nationally was McDonald’s, where it expensed 153 visits totaling more than $41,000. Chick-fil-A, Jimmy John’s and Dunkin were the next most frequent food vendors. Some food was decidedly more high-end.
It's possible a current Michigan state senator and a former state senator are both in the running for state party chair jobs early next year.
