St. Louis-area critics of President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown turned out Wednesday afternoon at two demonstrations here, adding their voice to protests spreading around the country. About 200 people gathered on the Tamm Avenue bridge over Highway 40 (Interstate 64) on the southern edge of Forest Park.
Indeed, it was. The Blue Jays swept the Cardinals, capped by a 5-2 win Wednesday afternoon. It marked the third time the Cardinals have been swept this season and dropped their record to 36-32.
The two protests were full of people criticizing recent mass arrests of immigrants nationwide, including over 100 in the Los Angeles area alone.
A third consecutive win helped the Toronto Blue Jays improve to 12-2 over their last 14, good for one of the best stretches the franchise has had in the last 30 years.
