A 17-year-old named Victor Ramirez Jr. was shot and killed in Charlotte, continuing a local spate of violence.

Just after 3 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the 100 block of Winding Path Way about an assault with a deadly weapon.

A suspect is known but no charges are being filed, police said, calling the shooting an “unfortunate situation between family members.”

CHARLOTTE — Police are investigating a homicide after a shooting in west Charlotte early Saturday morning, detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department say.
