Johnson told those gathered that the city's strength comes from its economy, cultural and entertainment opportunities, water resources and its people.

Milwaukee has seen improvements in public safety and city infrastructure, city Mayor Cavalier Johnson said Monday, but more needs to be done to shore up the local school district and address housing affordability.

The address will explore "key developments, challenges and exciting opportunities shaping our community’s future," according to the Office of the Mayor's website.
