Friday is another First Alert Weather Day as rounds of heavy rain move through the New York City area, which could cause flooding. It comes after storms pounded the Tri-State Area on Thursday and made for a messy evening commute.

Upwards of 2 inches of rain are expected areawide over the course of what is expected to be a day-long washout, one that could potentially trigger flash floods or river flooding in vulnerable areas across the region.

STATEN ISLAND, NY. — Rain brings the threat of flooding for the morning and evening rush hours on Friday on Staten Island and throughout New York City. Storm showers are expected to be heavy in the region and a National Weather Service flood watch is in effect north of New York City and on Long Island.
