The New York Yankees are hoping Devin Williams has found his groove. Following an abysmal start to the season that included a 10.03 ERA through his first 14 games (11.2 innings), Williams finally began to show strides of his former self.

Yankees reliever Devin Williams screamed, pumped his arms and bounced off the hill in animated fashion after getting San Diego’s Xander Bogarts to chase a 3-2 changeup.

After the Yankees designated him for assignment Tuesday, Carlos Carrasco cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday. That keeps some important starting depth in the organization, even with Carrasco having struggled to a 5.91 ERA in 32 innings.
