Yankees outfielders Cody Bellinger and Trent Grisham met with NJ Advance Media on Tuesday to discuss their mindset heading into the home stretch of a 2025 season that will lead to free agency.

The New York Yankees have been a frustrating team to watch, and their play on Sunday underscored that notion as they dropped another game to the Houston Astros.

New York Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger (illness) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. At first, Bellinger appeared to be getting a routine rest day which he certainly needed given his current slump at the plate.

And at age 30, the versatile outfielder will likely opt out and test the market this offseason for a long-term deal. According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Mets are said to “like” the outfielder. Bellinger is hitting .270 with a .816 OPS, 22 home runs and 69 RBI.
