Anuja producer Guneet Monga shared her first statement on Instagram after Oscar loss. She promised to return soon and paid a hat-tip to independent cinema.

Not just the team, the entire country rejoiced when American Hindi-language short film, Anuja was nominated for the Best Live Action Short Film award at the 97th Academy Awards. But sadly, the movie didn’t bring home the prestigious award and lost it to the Dutch film I’m Not a Robot.

The third time was not the charm for Guneet Monga and the short film Anuja which she co-produced through her banner Sikhya Entertainment. Earlier, she produced Rayka Zehtabchi's Period. End of Sentence in 2019 and Kartiki Gonsalves's The Elephant Whisperers in 2023 both went on to win the Best Documentary Short trophies at the Oscars.
