Landry's, which owns the Golden Nugget and the Rainforest Cafe among other local properties, took over as manager on Aug. 8 and offered to inject as much as $300,000 to cover accelerating losses.

Landry’s created the upscale Vic & Anthony's in 2003 and has included it in Golden Nugget properties in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, N.J. It has also opened a unit in New York City.

Landry's operates 174 restaurants nationwide, including 75 in Texas, and many of its holdings feature seafood. Don't expect Landry's to mess with Oceanaire's basic concept, Fertitta said.
