There are slow burns and then there are slow burns. The third season of The White Lotus is testing my patience. I’m typically pretty comfortable with slower shows. Severance and Andor are two of my favorites in recent years and both can easily be described as slow burns.

In The White Lotus Season 3, episode 7, Rick Hatchett (Walton Goggins) finally comes face to face with Jim Hollinger (Scott Glenn), the man he believes murdered his father.

Just like seasons 1 and 2 before it, season 3 of “The White Lotus” introduced a mysterious death during episode 1. Belinda’s ( Natasha Rothwell) son, Zion (Nicholas Duvernay), heard gunshots and saw a dead body floating in a pond, but we don’t yet know who was facedown in the water or who was shooting.

But after White Lotus worker Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) clocks him as the husband of Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) in Season 3, rightly assuming he had a hand in her death in order to inherit her vast fortune, it seems like Belinda may now be at risk from him herself.

In the penultimate episode of Season 3, both Gaitok and Laurie figure out the identities of the White Lotus jewel thieves.

The White Lotus Season 3, episode 7 finally gives the show's most miserable character a bit of closure. After some crafty scheming, Rick (Walton Goggins) and his friend Frank (Sam Rockwell) travel to the fancy Bangkok residence of wealthy White Lotus hotel owners Sritala (Lek Patravadi) and Jim Hollinger (Scott Glenn) — the man Rick is convinced murdered his father.

The White Lotus airs Season 3 Episode 7 tonight on Sunday, March 30 at 9 p.m. on HBO, and also streaming on Max. The show’s finale will air on Sunday, April 6 at 9 p.m., with PT time zone able to watch after 6 p.m.
