The Rangers won their series against the Tigers 2-1 with a win yesterday. Nathan Eovaldi was phenomenal on the mound. He didn’t give up a run in the 7.0 innings he pitched and only walked one batter, and struck out seven.

Jordan Beck and the Colorado Rockies will hit the field on Monday at Globe Life Field against Tyler Mahle, who is starting for the Texas Rangers. First pitch is at 8:05 p.m. ET. The Rangers have the sixth-ranked team ERA among all MLB pitching staffs (3.41). The Rockies strike out just 6.8 batters per nine innings as a pitching staff, worst in MLB.

Colorado promoted third base coach Warren Schaeffer to be the interim manager, the team announced Sunday after a 9-3 win over San Diego. That victory wasn’t enough to save Black’s job after the Rockies lost 21-0 to the Padres on Saturday night. They also fired bench coach Mike Redmond. Hitting coach Clint Hurdle takes over as interim bench coach.
