When Ohio State and Texas do battle in the 'Shoe on August 30, it will mark the first time a No. 1 team opened the season as an underdog.

As the third-ranked Buckeyes get closer to their matchup with top-ranked Texas, Ryan Day is hoping to lock in his frontline sooner rather than later.

The Buckeyes will host Texas, the No. 1 seed in the AP Poll that was released on Monday. Ohio State was rated No. 3 behind Penn State. But while the Buckeyes were not given No. 1 status, even as defending champions, they’ll still enter the star-studded Aug. 30 matchup against the Longhorns as favorites.
