A Flexjet pilot taxiing for takeoff Feb. 25 was blinded by sunlight and became disoriented, confusing one runway for another as a Southwest plane was preparing to land, investigators say. The Southwest pilots performed a go-around with seconds to spare.

The NTSB released a preliminary report on the close call at Chicago Midway, where a Flexjet plane crossed the same runway where a Southwest flight was coming in to land.
