Karl-Anthony Towns' first season with the New York Knicks came to a close after getting eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals. It was a historic season for Towns as he helped Jalen Brunson and the rest of the squad lead the Knicks to their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 25 years.

The lack of attention to Karl-Anthony Towns’ situation is understandable after crunching the numbers, but I still find it noteworthy — and at least worthy of exploration — that the Knicks center has until Oct. 20 to add two years to his contract.
