An anesthesiologist charged with attempted second-degree murder for allegedly attacking his wife on an Oahu hiking trail was indicted by a grand jury Friday, one day after his initial court appearance.

At about 10:30 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a report of a man beating a woman at the Pali Puka hiking trail. During the investigation, the 36-year-old victim reported her husband attempted to push her off the trail and struck her head multiple times with a rock. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
