The fact that Miami center fielder Jakob Marsee had a career performance of his own is a good indication of how things went for Williams and the Guardians. Marsee hit two homers and drove in a career-high seven runs as the Marlins stalled the Guardians’ revival with a 13-4 victory at Progressive Field.

Gavin Williams was hit hard in the first inning, and it didn't get any better for the bullpen in a double-digit loss to the Marlins.

Jose Ramirez came around to score three times and the Guardians bullpen was solid in a win over the Marlins Aug. 14.
