Several Cabinet secretaries have either submitted or would submit their courtesy resignations in support of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. call earlier in the day to allow him to 'realign government with the people's expectations.

MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has asked all his Cabinet officials to submit their courtesy resignations. Malacañang said the move was to “recalibrate his administration following the results of the recent elections,” in which Marcos’ senatorial ticket underperformed.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Friday said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declined to accept his courtesy resignation. “The president declined the courtesy resignation that I tendered,” he said in a press conference.
