We are through two weeks into preseason, and the Arizona Cardinals are sitting at an even 1-1 record after their loss to the Denver Broncos. There were certainly players last week who stood out, like Emari Demercado and Jacoby Brissett.
The Arizona Cardinals lost their second preseason game Saturday night, a 27-7 defeat to the Denver Broncos in which they allowed 562 yards and only gained 135. They didn't play any of their starters expect for rookie cornerback Will Johnson and new linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither.
Sean Payton was mostly pleased with the Broncos' win on Saturday, but "the one area that has to be cleaned up are the penalties."
The Denver Broncos' second preseason game of 2025 is in the books, coming out on top vs. the Arizona Cardinals 27-7. Several Broncos transformed the hype around their training camp buzz into tangible results on both sides of the ball.
After the Cardinals tied the game at 7, the Broncos went 70 yards in eight plays with the big ones of 17 and 16 yards to Bryant and a 27-yard scoring pass to Tony Franklin on which there appeared to be miscommunication in the secondary. That drive lasted 2:39.
The Broncos rested most starters, but not Evan Engram, against the Cardinals. Sean Payton explained why after the game.

Earlier today, Denver Broncos insider Mike Klis reported the Broncos had signed fullback Adam Prentice. In order to make room for Prentice, a corresponding roster move had to be made. According to Zac Stevens of DNVR, offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo has been placed on injured reserve. That news was confirmed by Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette.
