Elon Musk is leaving his government role as a top adviser to President Donald Trump after spearheading efforts to reduce and overhaul the federal bureaucracy. The billionaire entrepreneur posted Wednesday about his decision on X,

The billionaire presidential adviser said he was “disappointed” in Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” because of how it would raise the national debt.

As the 2026 midterms loom, voters are restless and eager to penalize those in power. Every election starting with 2006, with the exception of 2012, has been a change election.

The so-called “big beautiful bill” has one component that the NFL’s owners will regard as downright hideous. Via the New York Times, the domestic spending bill that passed the U.S. House of Representatives last week includes a provision removing the ability of sports-league owners to write off the entire value of “intangible assets” over 15 years.
