The CAIC has classified avalanche danger as "considerable," the third-highest level on its risk scale. This means that avalanches can be easily triggered in many parts of the state, especially near Vail, Breckenridge, and other popular destinations. The agency noted that current conditions are some of the most dangerous of the season.
