Kevin Roy and Aldrich Potgieter both shot 10-under 62s to set a new course record at the Detroit Golf Club during the first round of the 2025 Rocket Classic. Potgieter, a 20-year-old rookie, and Roy, a 35-year-old veteran, both eagled the 17th hole.

The putt grazed the left edge, with Potgieter missing an opportunity to cap a record-setting day by taking the outright first-round lead at the Rocket Classic on Thursday.
